Some people never grow out of high school behavior, and social media proves it every single day

There is something genuinely embarrassing about a grown man getting on Facebook just to disrespect another man, bash a company, or tear people down in a comment section for attention. At some point, maturity should kick in. Real men handle problems with respect, conversation, and accountability — not keyboard tantrums in public.

The internet has made people way too comfortable saying things they would never have the courage to say face to face. Hiding behind a phone screen while trying to embarrass somebody else doesn’t make a person strong, smart, or important. It just shows bitterness, insecurity, and a lack of character. A man that is secure within himself doesn’t spend his day belittling others online.

What’s even crazier is people don’t realize how much their words reveal about them. You can tell a lot about a person by how they speak about others, especially publicly. Respect costs absolutely nothing. Even if you dislike a company, disagree with somebody, or had a bad experience, there’s a mature way to handle it. Public humiliation, disrespect, and childish insults only make the person posting look immature.

The Bible speaks heavily about the power of the tongue and how we treat people. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Words carry weight. They can build people up or destroy them. Ephesians 4:29 also says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up.” That means constant bashing, mocking, and belittling people is not how we are called to live.

Another thing people forget is that businesses are made up of real people. Families. Employees. People trying to provide, grow, and survive. One hateful comment section doesn’t just affect a logo on a building — it affects actual human beings behind it. There’s already enough negativity in the world without grown adults adding more of it online for entertainment.

A real man knows how to communicate without disrespect. A mature person can disagree without being degrading. And honestly, carrying yourself with class will always speak louder than trying to “win” a Facebook argument.

At the end of the day, kindness, humility, and self-control will always outshine arrogance and public disrespect. Social media might reward drama with attention, but character is shown in how you treat people when you don’t have to.

Sometimes the strongest thing a person can do is simply choose respect.
